Photo with Madre Teresa di Calcuta.
Back circa 1995, when I was still a seminarian, studying theology in Rome (Angelicum, Domenican University), I had the grace of meeting with mother Teresa of Calcuta twice. An Indian good man, Cyril, was a seminarian in the "Father of Charity" religious order, founded by Mother Teresa. Cyril lived in a community outside Rome in a poor neighborhood. He would invite over dinner each time Mother Teresa was in Rome. Knowing that the holy lady stayed in their community when she visited Rome.
This picture however, was taken in the convent of the Sisters of Charity in Rome suburb. There was a group of priests and seminarians there. I was impressed that night with the simplicity of Mother Teresa, who stayed with us for about two hours, sharing her experience and love of Christ, whom she served in the poorest of the poor. Madre Teresa, as I could tell, was a simple, even naive in a good sense person. How could she accomplish that much! changing the lifes of many, and establishing the largest religious order in the Church (about 50 thousand nuns) cannot be understood but with the eyes of faith.
