April 29th 2007, in front of the UNESCO building in Beirut. 18 NDL students participated this year in the "Global Classroom" UN program; however only 15 people persevered till the end, and appear in this picture, plus Mrs. Denise Khoury who accompanied them throughout this project and myself.
Global Classroom project allows 1st and 2nd secondary students (Grades 10, 11) all over the world to participate in mock UN activities. Students form groups that represent different nations & participate in forging, defending & promoting UN resolutions concerning real hot issues.
Our Lady of Louaize students gleaned 9 awards. NDL came among the 1st three participant schools this year. Knowing that there were about 63 Lebanese participant school in this UN Global Classroom project, carried out in Lebanon by LAU.
